Alumni of the College of Foreign Languages Reunites

On June 21st and 22nd, 2019, eleven alumni of the Russian Department returned to their alma mater for a reunion after 52 years.

On the afternoon of June 21st, the college held an alumni symposium, attended by Zhou Yifu, Dean of the college, Liu Changsong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, Miao Youyan, a professor in the Russian Department, and Liu Duoyi, director of the Party Office. At the symposium, Dean Zhou Yifu and Secretary Liu Changsong extended a warm welcome to the alumni on behalf of the college and expressed heartfelt thanks to the alumni for their years-long care and support for the college. Later, ZhouYifu introduced the development of the college and all alumni shared their own life experiences after graduation. Finally, Guo Wenkui, on behalf of the alumni presented a banner and donated a personal collection of books to the college. After the symposium, Zhou Yifu and the alumni visited the lecture hall, language lab, simultaneous interpretation room, recording and broadcasting classroom, and teaching and research section of the college. After the visit, everyone took a photo in front of the foreign language building.

On the morning of June 22nd, the alumni visited the old school building and Geological Palace, recalling the past 52 years. After that, they returned to the Central Campus and visited the History Museum of Jilin University to review the development and outstanding achievements of their alma mater. After visiting the school history museum, the alumni had a meal in the canteen to reminisce about their lives as students. In the afternoon, they visited Jingyue Lake.

Alumni have expressed that this gathering has far exceeded expectations, and they are grateful to the Foreign Languages College for its strong support and the alumni liaison and the help of the Education Fund Management Office. The college will also take this opportunity to further strengthen communication and close cooperation with fellow alumni, jointly contributing to the development of alma mater!
