Graduate Student LvYing in Korean Translation and Interpreting Major won the Third Price in “All China Interpreting Contest of Korean” (The First Session)

All China Interpreting Contest of North (South) Korean (The first session) successfully concluded at Yanbian University on December 5th, 2021. This interpreting competition is a national, high-level one, attracting outstanding contestants from different universities and colleges across the country. After the fierce competition, LvYing, a graduate student majoring in Korean Translation and Interpreting in School of Foreign Studies, Jilin University, won the third prize. The instructor of this competition is Ms. Wang Yanli from the Korean Language Department.

This contest was instructed by China National Committee for Graduate Education of Translation of Interpreting, hosted by Yanbian University and undertaken by School of Korean and Chinese, Yanbian University. On account of the influence of the epidemic, the contest was postponed from September to December 5th. In spite of the inconvenience brought by the epidemic, the contestants were enthusiastic enough to provide a wonderful as well as fierce contest. The competition was divided into three parts: the preliminary contest, the intermediary contest, and the final round. The contest took the form of integration of online and offline. It involved Chinese and North (South) Korean language pairs, presenting in the way of consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting.

This competition covers economy, politics, social life and some other fields. The expert judges marked comprehensively according to the contents and quality of translation, the mastery and application of translation skills, and the professional quality of the translators.
