Speaker Bio: Emily Dolan, Ph.D. in Musicology, Associate Professor, Chair of the Department of Music at Brown University, has taught at Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, and many other prestigious universities. She has published papers in such prestigious journals as Current Musicology, Eighteenth-Century Music, Studia Musicologica, Keyboard Perspectives, and 19th-Century Music. In 2013, her first monograph, The Orchestral Revolution: Haydn and the Technologies of Timbre, was published by Cambridge Press and attracted widespread attention.

Centering around Dr. Dolan’s paper “Musicology of Interfaces”, the speaker will talk about some questions related with its Chinese translation and publication. The talk will take the form of trilateral talk between the author, the translator and the publisher.
