Introduction to the Speaker: Yang Jincai, Doctor of Literature, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Member of the Eighth Discipline Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, is currently the Director of the Institute of Foreign Literature at Nanjing University and the Editor in Chief of Contemporary Foreign Literature. He has long been engaged in the teaching and research of British and American literature, American studies, comparative literature, and modern and contemporary Western literary criticism, and has presided over a number of major projects, key projects, general projects of the National Social Science Fund, as well as Humanities and Social Sciences Projects of the Ministry of Education. Professor Yang has published more than 100 academic papers and 4 monographs. He is also a member of the American International Herman Melville Research Association, Vice President of the National American Literature Research Association, Executive Director of the British Literary Society, Executive Director of the Sino-American Comparative Culture Research Association, Executive Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Foreign Literature Research Association, and Executive Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Comparative Literature Society.
