Introduction：Korean Language Research and Learning - Centered on Korean Phonology.
What is the ultimate goal of the research and learning of Korean phonology? Korean phonology is a part of "humanities, linguistics, and Korean linguistics". Humanities is the study of human happiness, so the research and learning of Korean phonology is also ultimately for the pursuit of human happiness. The process of learning the knowledge system of Korean phonology, which consists of the discovery of phonemes, the establishment of “the phonological systems, the understanding of distinguishing features, the understanding of phoneme combinations, the understanding of phonological phenomena, and the understanding of basic patterns”, is a very specialized field, but the understanding of all these processes is both a process of human understanding and a process of learning the methodology of human happiness. The process of understanding all these processes is both a process of understanding people and a process of learning the methodology of pursuing happiness. Korean phonology is a possible approach to explore and understand the purpose of the research and leaning of the Korean language.
About the Speaker: Han Seong-u, a doctor of Department of Korean Language and Literature at Seoul National University, a professor and doctoral supervisor of Korean Linguistics at Inha University, Korea, and a member of the Korean Language Committee of MBC. He has published more than 20 papers, including "Pronunciation Education Program for Korean Learners in the Chinese Language Circle", and more than 10 volumes of academic books, including "The Language of Korean Food", of which "The Language of Dialects" was awarded as "Excellent Book by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism" and "Recommended Book for Youth by the Korea Publishing Culture Industry Promotion Agency". The Language of Korean Food" was selected as a bestseller and won the Chosun IIbo Writer's Award in 2016.
