The 2016 Chinese-Japanese Students Exchange was successfully held in Jilin University on 27 March. The Center of Chinese-Japanese Students Exchange was officially started operation. The Center primarily aims to promote China-Japan relations in 21st century and enhance mutual understandings of the youth in the two countries. The event was jointly organized by the International Cooperation and Communication Division of Jilin University, the College of Foreign Languages and the Japanese Foundation to deepen cultural communication, mutual understandings and trust between the college students in Japan and China. The Dean of the College of Foreign Languages Zhou Yifu, the Consul General of the Consulate General of Japan in Shenyang, the Chief of the China-Japan Exchange Center of the Japanese Foundation presented in the opening ceremony.
In Zhou Yifu’s address, he expressed his hopes for the Exchange to deepen the friendship of college students from Sendai and Changchun and enhance China-Japan communication and improve Chinese college students’ understanding towards Japanese culture. Themed by the four seasons, Japanese students introduced the geographic features, the food culture and customs of Sendai in Northeast Japan. Chinese and Japanese students watched and experienced the traditional “Peacock Dance” and arts and crafts of Sendai, tried on Japanese Kimono, and tasted traditional food like boiled taro, red bean pastry, etc..
The Exchange not only brought Chinese students a wonderful experience of Sendai culture, and also provided opportunities for close communication and exchanges with Japanese students. After the event, both Chinese and Japanese students wrote down their thoughts about the Exchange and expressed their blessings for each other.
