The Organizing Conference and Preliminary Organizing Conference of “the 12th National Japanese Speech Contest” Held in Jilin University

    On January 10th, 2017, the organizing committee and preliminary organizing committee conferences of “12th National Japanese Speech Contest” were held in Colleges of Foreign Languages of Jilin University. Approved by the Ministry of Education and jointly sponsored by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), Nikkei Inc, and the Society of China Professors in Japan, the speech is designed for Chinese college students and widely popularized in both China and Japan. It has become an unprecedentedly influential and large-scaled event.

    Present in the organizing committee conference were Mr. Shen Xuesong, Vice Secretary of CEAIE; Mr. Xiu Gang, President of Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Mr. Takehiro Takeya, executive director of Nikkei Inc, Mr. Fu Bo and Mr. Zhang Qiong, director and vice-director from Department of International Cooperation in China Association for International Understanding (CAFIU), Mr. Kayoko Kenyama, vice general manager of Beijing branch of Nikkei Inc, Professor Zhou Yifu, dean of college of Foreign Languages of Jilin University. Other participants into the conference are members in the organizing committee, representatives from eight divisions (Beijing, North China, Northeastern, East China, South China, Central China, Northwestern division and Southeastern division) as well as representatives from relevant authorities.

    Topics of this speech contest was decided and rules and awarding were laid down as well. At the meantime, representatives from each division shared their past experience and reported their preparation procedures. The details of preliminary contest organization and operation were also discussed.

    The preliminary contest of “12th National Japanese Speech Contest” will be held from May to the first ten days of June in eight divisions. The final contest will be on July 18th in Tokyo, Japan.
