Lecture on Ocean Order and Building Ocean Community with a Shared Future

In order to broaden the horizons of students in the School of Foreign Studies and to develop their all-round capabilities, the School of Foreign Studies invited several professors from the Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University to give a series of lectures.

On November 28, 2022, at 13:30, Professor Park Young-ae from the Northeast Asian Studies College gave a lecture on the theme of "Ocean Order and Building Ocean Community with a Shared Future" via the Tencent Meeting platform. It was attended by undergraduate students learning Korean from the Class of 2022 and foreign teacher Seyoon Kim. Professor Park introduced the concept of ocean order and the need to build an ocean community with a shared future.

Content Review

Prof. Park Young-ae began by giving an outline of the lecture, so that the students could have a good idea of the content and basic framework of the lecture. Then, he started with the word "ocean" and explained the definition of the ocean so that students could better understand what was going to happen.

Next, Prof. Park quoted content and data from various periods to show how important it is to establish an ocean order. In the process, he introduced in detail the content and meaning of ocean governance 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0, and asked the students to think together.

Finally, Professor Park presented the significance of building an ocean community of shared future in the current world situation. He made the argument to the students the significance of the construction of the community by analogy with China's Belt and Road policy. At the end of the lecture, Prof. Park invited two students to conclude the lecture and expressed her blessings and encouragement to the students of the Department of Korean Language and Culture. All the students benefited from the lecture and expressed their appreciation to Prof. Park after the lecture.
